Create/Update/Copy/Configure Template
Create Configuration Profile (Standard Mode)
Goto SPRO → SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide → SAP Solution Manager → Cross Connector → Configuration / Mapping → Create new customizing profile.
Run this report (/XALM/CC4_CUST_CREATE). It will create a new configuration profile based on one of our templates.
After creation is completed, you might need to adjust the profile to your needs as described below. Please do’t forget to add the complete configuration profile to your transport request using transaction SM34.
Please choose the reference type “lookup”. This is the default reference type. Only choose another type if you really want to choose it. Please use the default options (except the “test run” option) except you really want to use another behaviour.
Update Configuration Profile (Standard Mode)
Goto SPRO → SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide → SAP Solution Manager → Cross Connector → Configuration / Mapping → Update existing customizing profile.
After updating to a new version of our Cross Connector, some new features might be available. Since you already created your own configuration profile these new features might not be available to you out of the box. In order to activate these new features (for instances attachment support), please run the report (/XALM/CC4_CUST_UPDATE). It will inform you about all single changes detected and performed.
After update is completed, you might need to adjust the profile to your needs as described below. Please do’t forget to add the changes of your configuration profile to your transport request using transaction SM34.
Copy Template Profile (Expert Mode)
Only an expert consultant should perform a profile copy. Usually the reports mentioned above are designed to create new profiles and adjusting existing profiles.
Open transaction SM34
and select view cluster /XALM/CC4_SFM_VC
. Please copy the wanted template (name starting with “TEMPLATE_”).
Please never change or delete configuration profiles delivered by the Cross Connector because these configuration profiles are inheriting from each other. They might be reset during upgrade. Currently we are pre-delivering following profiles:
#0SYSTEM
#1LEGACY
#1ROOT
#2JIRA_CLOUD
#2JIRA_SERVER
#2SERVICENOW
(TEMPLATE)
TEMPLATE_JIRA_CLOUD
TEMPLATE_JIRA_SERVER
TEMPLATE_SERVICENOW
Configure your own profile
After creating/updating your profile via afore mentioned reports in standard mode or after copying a template, most configurational settings (especially the actions and attribute definitions) are already present.
However you will have to add explicit value mappings for certain attributes (view section: Value Mapping) and for Jira Cloud maintain a “Project” (see: Detail definition for example attribute ).
it may also be needed to add addition standard or your own custom attributes and corresponding field (and value) mappings or change the standard definitions in your own profile. You have to do that at least for own custom fields, own partner functions, own text types and own appointment types.
To open and maintain the view, open transaction SM34
and select view cluster /XALM/CC4_SFM_VC
or go there via SPRO → SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide → SAP Solution Manager → Cross Connector → Configuration / Mapping → Copy Template Customizing / Maintain mapping hierarchically.
Please do it carefully. There is a lot you can do wrong.
Inherit from reference profile
After you choose reference type “lookup” on profile creation, you will notice that the details for all actions, attributes and field mappings are empty. Only the action and attribute names are mentioned.
This is how it should look like! Empty means: Inherite it from the reference profile. Do what is specified in the reference profile. You just have to specify what (which action and attribute) you need. The reference profile knows how to do it.
Please only maintain the details, if you want to overwrite the settings of the reference profile or if you want to define an action/attribute unknown by the reference profile.
Deactivate not needed actions, process types and attributes
The reference profile is delivering a lot of actions, process types, attributes and field mappings you will like to have. But it is also delivering a lot you don’t want to have/use. To avoid errors or performance issues you should deactivate what you do not want.
Please deactivate read outbound of you do not want to use this feature. Deactivate attachments if you do not want to synchronize attachments. Deactivate attributes like priority or description if you do not want to synchronize it. …
Please never delete entries because deleted entries might be restored if you run the customizing update report after an product version upgrade.
